Guest Introduction: Courtney Turich

Hey everybody, it's Scott. Welcome to this. TL DL episode of my conversation with Courtney Turich, a former Shark Tank entrepreneur who secured deals with Mark Cuban and Lori Grinder, and now serves as the global VP of Sales and Marketing at Cooler Heads, helping cancer patients maintain their dignity during treatment and. If you missed the episode, you missed a treat. These T LDLs are designed for those who said too long, didn't listen. Why I encourage you to go back and listen to this full episode because Courtney certainly embodies her mantra. Be bold. Be confident, be you, and that's what we're gonna talk about when we go into the key takeaways from my episode with her.

Embracing Failures

First, let's talk about Courtney's powerful realization that failures and setbacks are actually the catalyst for discovering your true self. She talked very candidly. In terms of after having achieved the American Dream by securing a deal on Shark Tank, that she faced the crushing financial reality that forced her to walk away from the company, and when she finally came to terms with it.

She explained, I did feel like I lost a piece of myself, but at the same time, I also had this huge sigh of relief and that when she returned to the medical device sales industry that she's familiar with, she felt like she was living her true self. She was being bold with customers. Confident with her delivery and it was because she was living in her strengths.

She and I, both our Clifton strengths practitioners, can definitely say it's one of the best assessments that I've seen in terms of living in your true self. And that's what it really comes down to. It comes down to authentic self-expression through our professional endeavors, not forcing yourself.

Into roles that drain you.

Collaborative Leadership

Secondly, her evolution from me, me, me, to collaborative leadership really demonstrates the power of strength-based teams. And she admitted herself as activators of Top Clifton strength, which means start, start, start, start, start. But her transformation came when she realized that in order to win the deals and close the deals that.

Took a village and it could not have been done with everybody coming together and one plus one truly being something more than two. So this integrated leadership success is not about being the hero. Hero ball oftentimes is to our detriment. It's about creating the conditions where the team. Everybody can be heroic together.

Personal Purpose in Professional Impact

Finally, her current mission at Cooler Heads reveals just how personal purpose can transform professional. Impact. And as she learned more about this wonderful technology that Cooler Heads is bringing to market, and she realized what is the value prop to people going through cancer. It's about privacy.

It's about their identity. It's about allowing them to live life on their own terms and by empowering that in the patients they work with. That's a powerful positioning to what she does with her sales position, but also to her personal purpose in terms of being able to live a life of impact and. we all take a look.

Everything's Instagram famous at this age, and she would be the first to tell you, right, that there's a lot of harsh reality behind the scenes. But the more that you are aligned with your true, authentic leadership. Powering from your strengths, the better off you are going to be.
